Volunteering

GLOBAL VOLUNTEERING PROJECT

The European Energy Centre (EEC) has developed a Global Network of EEC Representatives and Ambassadors which currently spreads across three continents and is expanding all the time! We have a number of rewarding volunteer opportunities that can help you gain self-confidence and practice new skills.

Over the past year our team of international volunteers has helped the EEC to promote best practice and knowledge sharing in renewable energy across the globe.

Examples of the activities our Volunteers have been undertaking include:

• Working with local government organisations to share knowledge on renewable energy

• Working with local companies to develop new sustainable renewable energy technologies,
e.g. Solar Tree (see image, right)

• Writing opinion pieces and technical journal articles on renewable energy and energy efficiency

• Contributing creatively to our social media channels and newsletter

• Networking to build global partnerships between the EEC and local organisations

• Helping to co-ordinate and introduce EEC training to local organisations

EEC AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME

EEC Volunteers also have the opportunity to be appointed EEC Ambassadors by the Committee, for those volunteers who show outstanding and continued commitment towards the goal of promoting best practice in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

Meet our newest EEC Ambassador, Kettie Mkandawire, a valued member of the team!

"I am an Electrical Engineer with a passion in Sustainable Development in the Energy sector. I have been a volunteer with the EEC from July 2013, contributing towards raising awareness and best practices in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sector. This award of ambassadorship gives me an opportunity to reflect on the contributions I have made to EEC. It has provided me with motivation, enthusiasm and determination to achieve my professional goals and contributepositively to the social and economic lives of communities.

Not only is it a proud moment for me personally, but one which helps to acknowledge the importance of pioneering Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency  in today's world of energy production and consumption.”
