The Edinburgh Conference Centre is located in the beautiful grounds of the Heriot-Watt University campus, 6 miles from the city centre. It is ten minutes from Edinburgh International Airport and is just off the city centre bypass which connects with Scotland’s motorway network, making it easily accessible from all over Scotland and beyond.
By Air Edinburgh airport: 0870 0400 007 www.edinburghairport.com. The airport is just 3 miles from Heriot-Watt University. The journey by taxi takes about 10 minutes.
By Taxi Central Radio Taxis: 0131 229 2468. At Heriot-Watt Campus, taxis can be requested from the main reception. By Bicycle There are cycle routes to the Edinburgh Campus from the city centre, Edinburgh Park and the west. These either follow the main roads or the cycle paths along the Forth & Clyde canal. By Train The mainline rail network serves the centre of Edinburgh well. Edinburgh Waverley is at the east end of Princes Street and Haymarket Station is at the west end. Curriehill Station, one mile from the University, offers a frequent service to Edinburgh Waverley and a service to Glasgow Central Station. Rail timetables can be found on the National Rail website. By Car Heriot-Watt University is half a mile west of Calder Junction exit from the A720 city bypass and the A71 (There are signs for Heriot-Watt University on the approach to Calder Junction). On the M8 , from Glasgow turn right at Hermiston Gate roundabout following the signs for A71. Visitor Car Parking: Car Park C is for visitors to Edinburgh Conference Centre. Blue Badge Holders Only: an accessible car park is located on Gait 10 next to the Centre for Sport and Exercise. Disables visitors should make arrangements in advance to ensure an appropriately allocated space is made available.
By Local Bus Lothian Region Transport: www.lothianbuses.com (Note: search for "Riccarton Campus"). Lothian BBuses offers services 25, X25, 34, 45 to Heriot-Watt University. The 25 is the most frequent bus, leaving the city centre every 15 minutes. Bus service schedules are subject to change and enquiries should be directed to Lothian Buses.
